The primary objectives of this project will be to: 1) Survey the mussel fauna of Beech Creek to provide data that can be compared to previous surveys, specifically Fraley (2001); 2) Conduct a comprehensive survey that will provide defensible occupancy estimates for the purple bean in Beech Creek. The survey incorporated timed random searches and an occupancy study at numerous sites in the mainstem of the creek as well as the North Fork branch of Beech Creek.
